It is my great honour and pleasure that Slovenia will host the best young mathematicians in the year 2006, who will represent by talent and knowledge their countries at the 47^th International Mathematical Olympiad. The competition offers the promising young mathematicians from all over the world opportunities for cooperation and exchange of ideas which will further contribute to the enrichment of their knowledge. At the same time this will be the opportunity to gather, to make new friendships and to discover the attractions of our country.
